At the Lincoln Day Dinner held at the Huron Events Center last Thursday, South Dakota secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Hunter Roberts was the keynote speaker. The new addition to the SD State Fairgrounds last year was the Dakota Events Complex, The DEX. Roberts spoke of the exciting events coming up at the DEX including in June.
The State Fair and DANR are focused on increasing the uses of the DEX while always keeping site of its primary purpose.
The Huron Arena has hosted the Shrine Circus for several decades. There is no official word on the circus at the DEX next year. With the DEX construction the well used Sheep Barn was demolished and its footprint covered by the DEX. Roberts gave credit to the Huron Community and the legislature for coming through for funding on The Shed this year.
