OUT OF THE DARKNESS WALK SEPTEMBER 18th

Suicide prevention starts with everyday heroes like you.  Join Huron on Saturday September 18th  at Campbell Park for the walk to fight suicide and raise awareness about mental health.  It’s the Huron Out of the Darkness walk and its part of movement turning hope into action and creating a culture that is smart about mental health.  Go to AFSP.org/huron to find out more. Annette Bowen with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention talks about the event and where the funds raised go.

The Out of the Darkness walk is getting to be a tradition of awareness in the Huron community.

The website talks of the many ways that you can get involved.  I asked Bowen about suicide prevention, when it happens in someones life with a friend or family member there is always the statement that they did not see the signs.

Bowen said they have received support from individuals, in memorial and from organizations.

The Out of the Darkness Huron walk is Saturday September 18th at Campbell Park with registration at 9 am and the event from 10-11 am.  You can check out all of the information at http://afsp.org/huron
