Chamber plans July 4th reverse parade

Organizing a July 4th parade in Huron is a regular activity for the Huron chamber and visitors bureau.  With the Coronavirus pandemic regular events have had to adapt to physical distancing guidelines that request people not co-mingle.  Laurie Shelton, President and CEO of the Huron Chamber said the idea for a change was started by their Board of Directors.

Shelton said their office went with a different version of a parade that a member of her staff had found out about.

The Chamber will have a reverse parade map available on their Facebook page.  Hard copies are available inside the entryway of the Chamber at 1725 Dakota ave south.  The map lets you know where participating businesses are located.  If you pick up a map you can also take a 4th of July bingo card for kids to complete.

The decorating contest is open to all businesses that pre-registered and prizes for most patriotic business display will be awarded.  The reverse parade is official from 10 to 11 am July 4th but businesses will have the decorations up through the weekend.  The Huron Chamber and Visitors bureau staff and Board of Directors wish all of you a safe and happy 4th of July.
