SDHDA Awards Over $1 Million in Funds to Huron Project

The South Dakota Housing Development Authority’s Board of Directors has approved $1.9 million dollars in HOME Investment Partnerships Program funding and $361,000 in Housing Opportunity Fund funding for housing activities across the state.

Th eight projects funded will provide 75 newly constructed multi-family housing units, 16 single-family housing units and seven rehabilitated multi-family housing units.

Among the recipients is Jefferson Village Apartments which is planned near 21st Street and Idaho Avenue in Huron. When constructed, the three story apartment building will contain 40 housing units for persons ages 55 and older. There will be 22 one bedroom units and 18 two bedroom units.

The SDHDA board has reserved $1,061,000 in funds for the project.
