South Dakotans for Better Marijuana laws made a stop in Huron on Monday to promote voter registration. The group is also promoting IM27 the recreational marijuana measure that is on the ballot on November 8th. Campaign manager Matthew Schweich talks about issues registering new voters including for people convicted of a felony.
Schweich reminded voters that they can vote early.
When voting be sure to bring your id card. IM27 concern recreational marijuana but inevitably the conversation changed to the medical side. Schweich was asked about health care professional responses regarding marijuana for their patients.
The war on marijuana escalated in the Nixon administration with a bold statement made by then president Nixon. Schweich said what was lost there was years of research.
