Law enforcement officials had a busy morning at Webster. Day County Sheriff Barry Hillestad says it began just after 8:30 this morning when two state troopers approached a vehicle at the CENEX convenience store on highway 12. He says a man that appeared to be passed out or sleeping in his vehicle left the scene as two state troopers approached his vehicle to check on him, placing the officers at risk
Hillestad says the pursuit continued South out of Webster
The pursuit ended southeast of Webster on the Day-Clark county lines. Hillestad says the man arrested was not identified because it is an ongoing investigation involving a parole violation, drugs, and alcohol. The individuals involved in the accident were not identified either, however both were airlifted to Sioux Falls by helicopter.
