The National Weather Service has been tracking a winter storm system that is headed towards the area. It is still set for two punches. Meteorologist Jen Hacker with Sioux Falls NWS outlined the first portion arriving late Wednesday or Thursday.
Hacker said they are still trying to nail down predictions for the second phase later in the weekend.
