New Urologist Joins HRMC Physicians Clinic

Nathan Bockholt, M.D., a board-certified urologist, has joined the Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) medical staff, according to David Dick, president and CEO for HRMC.

Dr. Bockholt, who also practices with Urology Associates in Sioux Falls, sees patients in Huron at the HRMC Physicians Clinic on the first and third Wednesday of each month. He joined the medical staff in January to continue our tradition of providing quality urology care to the community in Huron, succeeding Dr. John Robbins, who retired after 32 years of outreach urology.

Dr. Bockholt cares for patients of all ages focusing on the function and disorders of the genitourinary tract – the urinary tract in men and women and the reproductive system in men. Conditions he treats include, but are not limited to, overactive bladder, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, bed wetting, diseases of the prostate and urological cancers.

“I chose urology because it provides me the opportunity to offer patients both surgical and clinic-based care, depending on what they need,” says Dr. Bockholt. “It also allows me to make lasting relationships with patients as I continue to be part of their continuity of care over the years.”

He earned his medical degree from the Sanford School of Medicine at the University of South Dakota. He also holds an MBA degree from the University of Iowa Tippie School of Management. Dr. Bockholt completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He also completed a urology fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association and the Endourological Society.
