“I’m learning new things each day, and I have had amazing support from HRMC’s leadership team,” said Metzger, “I have been employed with HRMC for about 12 years now and being familiar with HRMC and the ER team made the transition to my new role very smooth.”

In addition to her experience as a nurse at HRMC, she has provided homecare services and worked as a nurse at Avera Weskota Medical Center in Wessington Springs.

“Our biggest goal is for everyone in our community to have equal access to health care. We are here for our community, to serve our patients and provide excellent patient care,” Metzger said. “I would also like us to be more involved in promoting healthy living in our community. Community and patient education is a vital part of health care as a whole.”

Having been born and raised here in Huron, the majority of Metzger’s extended family also lives here. She and her husband Matt, who owns and operates Masters Handyman Service, have six children together: Kayla (17), Hannah (11), London (11), Olivia (9), Madyson (8), and Cruz (7).
