We have heard the thoughts this week from the next Huron School District superintendent, Dr Kraig Steinhoff. He is currently superintendent at Oakes ND school district. Dr Steinhoff spoke of transitioning from the Oakes district to Huron with some of the similarities and differences in place. In terms of student enrollment he spoke of a study that he had been involved with concerning enrollment projections.
While Huron has had drops in enrollment from population loss in the past. The current growth is encouraging and Steinhoff said the enrollment in Huron School district looks good.
Dr Steinhoff said that with the differences between small and larger schools they still have many things in common.
Dr Kraig Steinhoff will take over for Terry Nebelsick at the end of the current school year.
