American Bank & Trust Donates to School
Districts Through Spirit Card Program
(Huron, South Dakota – March 8 20, 2021) – American Bank & Trust strives to make a positive and lasting impact on communities. One way the bank accomplishes this is through their Spirit Card program. These Debit Cards promote school pride and generate income for school districts.
A Spirit Card is a Debit Card that showcases the school district’s name, colors and mascot. The card is linked to a customer’s checking account and when account holder make a purchase with their Spirit Card, American Bank & Trust donates money back to the school.
The bank recently donated $5,026.62to the Huron School District. These funds will be used to buy a variety of items including creation of a sensory walk pathway at Madison Elementary, athletic training equipment for students with injuries that are doing rehab, gifts and rewards that will be used during March Madness Reading Challenge at Washington Elementary, cheer and dance workshop registration fees and supplies for the Destination Imagination program.
American Bank & Trust also donated $1,854.08 to the Wolsey-Wessington school system. The dollars will be used to buy books for elementary classrooms, a Cricket printer, light covers for classrooms which will promote calmness and SitSpots which are the perfect solution for social distancing and helping children know where to be.
Funding decisions are made and presented annually by the Spirit Card Advisory Committee and consist of school district employees and bank staff.
Since 2012, American Bank & Trust has donated over $37,500 to Huron schools and $11,300 to the Wolsey-Wessington School District through the Spirit Card program!
Spirit Cards are currently available for the Huron Tigers, Wessington Springs Spartans, Miller Rustlers, De Smet Bulldogs, Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds, Northwestern Wildcats, Pierre Governors, Stanley County Buffalos, Iroquois Chiefs, Howard Tigers, James Valley Christian Vikings and the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars.
