This calving season will be one for the record books at Broken Heart Ranch near Wessington Springs.
Owner Dennis Beckman says his hired man helped one cow deliver four – count’em four – calves.
He says he thought his man was just fooling around when he called him up to come see the incredible delivery.
There most be something in the water in Jerauld County, because Beckman says a neighbor down the road had triplet calves just weeks earlier and that doesn’t happen every day. But quadruplets are unheard of.
Mother and calves are doing fine, but there’s not much room under there for them come feeding time
