Iverson Auto Breaks Ground on Chrysler/Ford Dealership in Southtown

Governor Kristi Noem and Congressman Dusty Johnson were part of today’s groundbreaking festivities for Iverson’s Chrysler/Ford dealership in Southtown.

Greater Huron Development Corporation president and CEO David McGirr said the Iverson family has made a big investment in Huron.

Austen Iverson said getting the Chrysler and Ford brands under one roof was not an easy undertaking. The land in Southtown was purchased four years ago and Iverson said they began working with an architect in Wisconsin two years ago. The architect specializes in franchise dealerships and was recommended by Ford.

Governor Noem said today’s groundbreaking is another example of what happens when the state, cities, and families work together.

Rep. Dusty Johnson said a project like this doesn’t happen unless a business has the trust of its customers.

Iverson Auto has been doing business in Mitchell for 71 years and made the expansion into Huron with the purchase of Sibley Motor in 2014 and Schoenhard Ford in 2016.
