Last week’s 23 inch snowfall pushed the season’s snowfall total in Huron into the top 10 all time, according to the National Weather Service.
Including last week’s snow, the total for the 2018-19 winter season is 62.4 inches, good for 9th overall, but well short of the all time record 89.6 inches for the winter of 2000-01.
Sisseton, 88.4 inches, Mobridge, 86.8 inches, and Watertown, 81.9 inches, have all set all time records for total snowfall this season.
Mitchell, 67.6 inches, Brookings, 60.8 inches and Aberdeen 81.1 inches, have their 3rd highest totals in history, and Pierre at 66.3 has their 4th highest total.
