On March 30 this year the South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources announced that the SD Board of Water and Natural Resources had designated over 90 million dollars in grants and funding for projects across the state. One of those was a $300,000 grant for the city of Huron. Dale Fortin, superintendent with the Huron solid waste department talks about that grant.
Fortin said the new baler is part of future plans.

Due to a large recycler going out of business several weeks ago, the city of Huron discontinued collection cardboard from several businesses including the bins at City Hall parking lot. Residential cardboard pickup in the recycling containers is still active. Fortin updates that issue.
