During last night’s Huron Board of Education meeting, Business Manager Kelly Christopherson presented the preliminary budget for the 2018-19 school year.
The total budget amounts to $31 million, with most of the that going into the general fund.
Another big part of the budget is the special education fund. $4.3 million is budgeted for the fund for next year.
Chrishopherson says there has been a unique shift in that fund.
He says there are more needs than funding in special education.
Christopherson is hopeful the new budget can be adopted at the second board meeting in June.
