HURON HOUSING REHAB SPECIALIST

Huron Housing Authority took a step towards long term improvements to its housing stock on Tuesday.  Ralph Borkowski was introduced as Huron’s Housing Rehab Specialist at a kick off event at the Huron Event Center.  Huron Housing Authority was awarded a $10,000 community innovation grant from the South Dakota Community Foundation to assist in launching the new position.  Additional checks to support the program were presented from the Huron Chamber, Community Development Foundation, city of Huron and Huron Community Foundation.  Andrea Del Grosso, Executive Director of Huron Housing Authority talks about the focus of the new position.

Del Grosso said they will be reaching out to the community as the program grows.

The Huron Community Foundation also received a check for $12,500 from the South Dakota Community Foundation in recognition of passing the $100,000 mark in their $200,000 capital campaign to assist in completing Huron improvement projects identified by Huron Rising last year.
