Huron Middle School student Hamtyn Heinz won the girls 12-13 division of the Northwest Central Region Elks hoop shoot contest in Rapid City this past weekend.
Hamtyn was also the overall girls winner for all divisions. Hamtyn will now shoot in the national finals in Chicago at the end of April.
She is 13 years old and is the daughter of Peggy and Dennis Heinz of Huron. Hamtyn is representing Huron Elks Lodge 444 and Huron Middle School in the competition.
