Hand County Authorities Call off Search for Wanted Man

The Hand County Sheriff’s office believes a 25 year old man has escaped capture, possibly with the help of another.

Authorities say they will continue to watch for Trent Voges as he does have ties in Hand County and in the Wosley area where he attended school. He also has relatives in the Hoven and Huron areas.

A tip was received that he was spotted in Wolsey but that tip was from a sighting prior to the events which took place in Hand County.

Saturday Voges and his companion were seen parked at the bar in Ree Heights. The bar was closed so the deputy stopped to investigate. During the encounter Voges ran away. A search followed but he was not located.

On Sunday Voges was seen in Miller and then in St. Lawrence. The search ramped up again which led to the efforts yesterday.

Yesterday afternoon Voges was seen walking through a yard 1 East and 1/2 South of Miller. A search of the area was unproductive. A K9 from the Jerauld County Sheriff’s Office and two commercial drones were used.

Voges has five pending misdemeanor & felony warrants out of Minnehaha County.
