Americans for Prosperity hosted a lunch Tuesday in Huron at Top Floor Events. They hosted the event to focus on border security issues with illegal immigration. US Representative Dusty Johnson was the featured speaker on the topic of immigration and the southern border security. Johnson said when dealing with the issue it is important to compare the different forms of immigration.
Dr Kraig Steinhoff superintendent with the Huron School District was also on hand he spoke about the legal immigration side and the impact of incoming families and students into the Huron School district.
Johnson said to properly address illegal immigration measures to improve the legal immigration side need to be improved. He said the effects of remote working from home due to Covid still have a negative impact on the federal government.
Johnson also made an appearance at Putters and Scoops for a town hall scoop meeting.
