Diesel Fuel Flow to Ravine Lake Ends

Containment boom surrounds a storm drain where diesel fuel was flowing into Ravine Lake

It looks like the diesel fuel that was spilling into Ravine Lake in Huron through a sewer outlet has stopped….

That’s Beadle County Emergency Management Director Tom Moeding.  The spill was discovered Thursday when a woman fishing on the lake smelled the fuel.  Moeding says they still don’t know the source of the spill, or how much fuel made it into the lake….

 Moeding says they’ll still try to find the party responsible for the spill, so they can cover the cost of the cleanup…

 Moeding says it doesn’t look like there will much of an environmental impact from the spill…..
