The Huron City Commission approved advertising for design build bids/proposals for construction of a new Public Works Building located at the Huron West Industrial Park, at 252 U Avenue SW.
The deadline for bids/proposals is June 30, 2017 with a pre-bid conference will be held for all interested design build bidders and subcontractors on June 20, 2017.
The estimated cost of the project is over $5 million and will be paid for with second penny sales tax money and reserves.
Project manager Dick Freske says the project should be completed by July 9th of 2018.
Also last night, commissioners accepted the resignation of city engineer Mike Wever.
