City Commission and Board of Education Meet Monday Night

 

The Huron City Commission and Board of Education both had regular meetings last night.

The School Board received a report on the Associated School Boards of South Dakota delegate assembly, and also introduced Caitlyn Kemnitz, who will serve as the district’s career counselor.

The City Commission tabled for one week a new hiring incentive program proposed by the city police department for further review and discussion, recognized Shawn Martin of Performance Radio and Roger Larsen of the Plainsman for their years of reporting, and heard a final report on the city surplus online auction.

The commission also announced changes to schedules due to Thanksgiving, Thursday’s & Friday’s Garbage and Recycle will be collected tomorrow, anyone on those routes should have your containers out tonight as to the trucks will NOT be rerouted tomorrow.  The Solid Waste Department Rubble Site will be closed Thursday through Saturday in observance of Thanksgiving and for building repairs.
