The Governmental Affairs committee of the Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau hosted the State of the County luncheon Thursday at the Crossroads. Beadle County Commission chair Doug Ramsell recognized department heads and retirees from some of those departments and recognized commissioner Tom Hansen who will step down from the commission after his current term expires. Ramsell said an updated web site is up and running.
With the continual dry conditions Ramsell said the countywide burn ban is still in place.
He gave an update on the new highway shop on US highway 14.
Ramsell updated attendees at the luncheon on medicinal marijuana in the county.
The Governmental Affairs committee will be hosting an election forum for the county commission. That will be held later in May.
