A Frigid Close to 2017

2017 will go out on a brutally cold note.

A patchwork of warnings and advisories cover the entire state of South Dakota through Saturday:

A wind chill warning is in effect from midnight tonight to noon Saturday for the following counties in Central and Southern SD including: Beadle, Brookings, Faulk, Kingsbury, Lake, Miner, Moody, Spink, Clark, Codington, Grant, Hamlin, Deuel, Traverse, Big Stone, Corson, Campbell, McPherson, Brown, Marshall, Roberts, Walworth, Edmunds, Day, Dewey, and Potter.

Wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 10
minutes to exposed skin. Expect wind chills to range from 25
below zero to 40 below zero.

A wind chill advisory is in effect from midnight tonight to noon Saturday for the counties in Northern SD including Hughes, Hyde, Hand, Jones, Lyman, and Buffalo. Wind chills will cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Wind chills will range from 20 below zero to 30 below zero.
