TransCanada has announced that the Keystone Pipeline will be restarted today, under reduced pressure.
The pipeline has been shutdown for days because of a 210,000 gallon oil spill in Marshall County, in northeastern South Dakota.
The company says its repair and restart plans have been reviewed by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, with no objections, allowing a return to service.
TransCanada was forced to shutdown Keystone November 16 when it discovered a leak amounting to some 5,000 barrels of oil.
In April of 2016, there was a much, much smaller Keystone leak near Freeman, South Dakota.
