San Francisco Designates SD “Off-Limits” for Official Travel

The City of San Francisco has placed South Dakota off limits for official travel because of a bill passed in this year’s legislature.

The law protects faith based adoption agencies that refuse to place children with gay couples, or other arrangements at odds with their religious beliefs.

Governor Dennis Daugaard, who signed the bill, says that stance is a concern

Daugaard says there is some misunderstanding of the law

Daugaard says anyone seeking to adopt, will be served

It appears likely that the State of California may also forbid official travel to South Dakota because of the law.
