The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work will begin to replace the bridge on Highway 212 just west of Redfield on Monday, March 27.
The contractor will begin making changes to traffic patterns in preparation for the complete closure of the bridge on Monday, April 10.
A semi-truck/oversize vehicle detour route will be provided via Highway 26 and a regular vehicle detour route will be directed through the town of Redfield.
Motorists are asked to slow down in work zones and be prepared for suddenly slowing or stopped traffic, as well as construction workers and equipment adjacent to the driving lane.
Work is expected to be completed on Oct. 14, 2017.
