SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Basin Electric Power Cooperative said construction is under way on a wind farm that will have 108 turbines north of White Lake in southeast South Dakota. Basin Electric will own and operate 101-turbines. The public investor group Wind Partners will own seven others. Mitchell Technical Institute will use one of the wind towers in its wind technician degree program. Planners say the Crow Lake Wind Project will cost 363-million dollars and sshould be completed in early 2011. The electricity will be fed into the Western Area Power Administration system.
