A female pedestrian was struck by a pickup and killed Thursday night while she was walking along U.S. Highway 212 west of Watertown.
Names of the deceased and the driver have not yet been released pending notification of family.
A 2012 Ford F-350 pickup was eastbound in the passing lane of U.S. Highway 212 when he saw something on the shoulder of the road. The male driver applied his brakes, but hit the woman who had entered the roadway. The pedestrian was later pronounced dead at the Watertown hospital.
Charges are not pending against the driver.
