Wolsey-Wessington HS Senior Appointed To Naval Academy By Johnson

U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) says Sawyer Langbehn of Wolsey has been appointed to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Johnson nominated Langbehn for an appointment earlier this year. Langbehn is a senior at Wolsey-Wessington High School where he serves as class president and is active in football, cross country, basketball and track. In order to be appointed to a service academy, young women and men must be of good character and must meet strict requirements in academics, physical aptitude, medical fitness, character, and leadership potential. Applicants must also meet the minimum medical requirements of the respective academies which are reviewed by the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board. Candidates must receive a nomination from a member of Congress or from the Vice President of the United States.
