Friday’s rain in Huron was the second highest single day rainfall on record for the month of August at 3.71 inches, according to the National Weather Service.
Ironically, August 2,1956 was highest ever at 4.11 inches, so this past Friday’s total did not set a daily record. Friday was also the 4th highest single day total for ANY time of year.
Huron now has the second wettest year on record with still over four months to go.
The total for 2019 is now 26.54, just .35 behind 1962’s all time record of 26.89. The 2019 total is over 11 inches ahead of normal for the year, and Huron is more than double ahead of last years moisture pace.
