WHAT WE DO MATTERS PART 5 – DR JOE CARR

This week on our feature What we do matters, we have taken a look at Coronavirus vaccines.  Pfizer, Moderna and now once again cleared for use with guidelines Johnson and Johnson.  Dr Joe Carr a member of the Beadle County Covid 19 Unified Task Force examined the benefits and risks involved with receiving the series.  The vaccinated numbers statewide have now reached 50 percent of the adult population.  The goal is to reach the herd immunity level of 75-85 percent.  The public from the start of vaccinations spoke out about the short amount of time to develop the vaccines concerned about the follow up and stating that not enough was known of the vaccines to be safe.  Dr Carr spoke of this question.

Carr said that even though people do not think enough research was done.  Vaccine research has been going on for a long time and is ongoing.

We covered many personal feelingS about vaccines including the reactions and deaths, past covid cases who feel they had minimal difficulties from it.  Even some people who believe they would get Covid 19 from the vaccine.

Early in the vaccines dispensary the wait was timely,  Carr said that is not the current situation.

When the Coronavirus numbers first started adding up many of us watched the numbers daily.  Carr said we should now be watching the vaccination percentage climb and see the opposite situation sweep across another part of the globe.
