Wet Conditions Hamper Spring Planting

A slow, wet spring is causing planting delays across much of the northern plains, adding to the economic stress many producers are under.

South Dakota State University President Barry Dunn says there is over supply of every commodity.

Dunn says it is difficult to create enough demand for raw commodities.

Dunn says exports will not make up enough difference.

Dunn points to a new soybean processing plant in Volga that will make fish food as another example of value added ag.
