Officials coordinating Wessington Springs’ recovery from a June tornado are hosting a community meeting to discuss unmet needs and case management for those who suffered damages from the storm.
Mayor Melissa Mebius says the meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29, at 7 p.m. at the City Hall in Wessington Springs……

Anyone with damages to homes or property is urged to attend the meeting and bring documents verifying income, expenses and resources received following the tornado. Community leaders also remind low-interest disaster loans may be available from the Small Business Administration for tornado victims. An SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center has been established at the Jerauld County Ag Building, 604 2nd Street, NE, in Wessington Springs. The center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The center will cease operations at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 31.
