Wessington Springs Man Killed In Collision With Tanker

A Thursday morning accident has taken the life of a Wessington Springs man. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says 63-year-old Ronald Ogren was killed when he turned left in front of a fuel tanker on South Dakota Highway 34, two miles west of Wessington Springs. Ogren was driving east on Highway 34 when he attempted a left turn into a private driveway. Ogren turned in front of a 2012 Kenworth fuel tanker being driven by 28-year-old Josh McGillvrey of Wolsey. The impact threw Ogren from the tractor. McGillvrey received minor injuries and was wearing a seat belt. Joining the Highway Patrol at the scene were the Wessington Springs Fire Department and Jerauld County Sheriff and Ambulance.
