WEATHERING THE STORM – MENTAL HEALTH PART 4

Our fourth in a series called Weathering the Storm as we take a closer look at depression and mental health.  We have heard from Tammy Dramstad with Community Counseling in Huron about recognizing indicators of depression and possible suicidal thoughts along with ways to approach that person and get them the help that they need.  Cases of mental health continue to be those in which the people who suffer are reluctant to acquire help on their own. We asked Tammy if people are getting better about accepting help.

A look at the number of those who seek mental health treatment.

Dramstad said in certain situations people needing help but not wanting to take that extra step can be placed on a hold to check their state of mind.

Our series Weathering the Storm continues next week.  Next we will address the impact of alcohol and drug use on mental health.
