There will not be a preliminary hearing today for 31 year old Alexis Velazquez-Sanchez who is jailed for killing A 17 year old Watertown boy.

Codington County States Attorney Patrick McCann says the defendent was indicted by a Codington County Grand Jury Monday on three counts including 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Manslaughter, and 2nd Degree Manslaughter.

The indictment follows a shooting incident involving a neighborhood dispute wherein 17 year old Jayden Harley was killed.

The incident happened in Southwest Watertown following a verbal encounter involving a noise complaint. Velazquez-Sanchez had been a resident of Watertown for three years.  The 45 caliber gun used in the shooting was licensed to Velazquez-Sanchez who was apprehended at his residence. Assistant Watertown Police Chief Tim Toomey said there had been ongoing disputes over noise in the neighborhood and that numerous bystanders witnessed the shooting when an argument flared the evening of June 10th.
