Voters in Beadle County will decide if a Wheel Tax imposed by the County Commission will stay or be rejected. Beadle County Commissioners passed a higher wheel tax in August as a way to help possibly tap into 15-million dollars in available state funds for roads and bridges. Those opposed to the wheel tax gathered enough signatures to force a vote on the tax. Wheel tax expansions have been defeated by voters in 2007 and 2010 with 55-percent of voters in 07 defeating the measure. Voting is taking place at the Huron Campus Center from seven am to seven pm. We will have results tonight on air and on-line on the Performance Radio News page on Facebook.
