The Huron Veterans Council Veteran’s Day program was held Sunday at Huron High School auditorium.
This year’s guest speaker was veterans Mike Stahly of Cavour, who shared his experiences in the Vietnam war.
Stahly says he left for basic training in February of 1968.
Once in Vietnam, Stahly was attached to an infantry company.
Stahly recounted how difficult it was to move through the jungles of Vietnam.
Stahly says once he returned to the United States he had a difficult time reaching his family to let them know he was back home.
Yesterday’s program was broadcast live on Tiger 95.
