Huron native and the new head men’s basketball coach at the University of South Dakota Todd Lee will return to his hometown a week from today.
Lee was named head coach of the Coyotes back in April and is a 1982 graduate of Huron High School. Lee says that while he has not been back to Huron in many years, the coaches who worked with him back then have had a lasting impact on him to this day. He quickly mentioned his freshman basketball coach Lyle Pearson.
Pearson eventually went to Sioux Falls Lincoln and had a long career coaching both boys and girls. Lee said a future Huron High School Hall of Famer was also a mentor.
Lee will be in Huron next Tuesday, August 28 for golf at the Huron Country Club, followed by a social. Tee times begin at 11:30, call Bush Fullerton at 354-4776. A social hour will begin at 5 pm at the Country Club, and everyone is welcome.
