The Huron City Commission will hold TWO meetings today after not meeting last week for Memorial Day. Commissioners will meet at 10 AM for a demonstration by Sheehan Mack Sales & Equipment a Global Python S3000 Street Sweeper the city is considering purchasing. The demonstration is being held at the City of Huron Street Department Shop, at 467 1st Street SW. The Commission’s normal 5:30 PM meeting will consists of considering whether to accept Sheehan Mack’s bid on the truck and two payment request for infrastructure projects. Three public hearings are scheduled for alcohol license requests. Commissioners will also consider agreements with the United Way for the Huron Bike Program and for Bonestroo Engineering for architecture work on the proposed Huron Aquatic Center at the Former Huron University Campus. A request by the Izzac Walton League for use of the old trap range for a Hunt Safe Class is also on the agenda. Commissioners will consider an resolution regardig the use of a Boom Truck by the Huron Chamber and the first reading on two ordinances that relate to the Fire Department. The second and final reading of a ordinance to bring some of Huron’s Special Event alcohol and South Dakota farm wine licenses in line with new state statutes is tonight. The Commission will also consider appointments to city boards and committees, two human resource items and will hear a recommendation from the appraisal committee appointed to value a surplus fire truck. The Commission will meet for two executive session items then hold a work session with the Capital Assets Committee.
