A preliminary trial date is set for one of four people arrested in connection to an extensive burglary spree that stretched across Beadle County earlier this month. A May first trial date is in place for 19-year-old Cody Weed. Weed pleaded not guilty to seven charges of second degree burglary and a single count of receiving stolen property. A second file pending against Weed is for one count of petty theft. Weed was arrested with 29-year-old Marcus Erickson, 32-year-old Shoa Lee and 21-year-old Seevang Lee in relation to a burglary spree where well over 30-thousand dollars worth of property was stolen from at least seven rural and city residences across Beadle County. Weed could face up to 105 years in prison and fines totaling up to 210-thousand dollars on the Class Three felony second degree burglary charges alone.
