Today is deadline day for candidates who want to run for county or state political offices in South Dakota to get their petition signatures turned in.
Secretary of State Shantel Krebs says today’s deadline applies to candidates running in a June primary race, or the November general election, but there is one exception.
Krebs says the number of ballot issues that will be voted on by South Dakotans in November is still a work in progress.
District 22 legislators Senator Jim White, Rep. Roger Chase and Rep. Bob Glanzer are seeking re-election.
Democrats Tyler Volseky and Eric Bliss are candidates for District 22 State House and Senate respectively.
To find out who’s running for various offices, go to the Secretary of State’s website and click on “candidate info” at the top of the page.
