Tipi Display at Huron Public Library Through November

Visitors to the Huron Public Library can explore the center of the family life for many Plains tribes…the tipi.

The traveling history display “The Tipi” is on loan from the Siouxland Heritage Museums in Sioux Falls, September through November at the Huron Public Library.

A durable and versatile structure and a spiritual symbol, the tipi is still used today. Learn about customs, construction, designs, and interiors of these unique lodges.

This exhibit has 7 fabric pop up panels with interpretative text and graphics along with a real canvas tipi.
