This Wednesday was Winter Weather Preparedness Day in South Dakota. Each year, the South Dakota Office of Emergency Management, the National Weather Service and other agencies schedule the day as a way to draw attention to the dangers that winter weather can pose. South Dakota’s Highway Patrol Superintendent Colonel Craig Price says as winter driving season approaches once again, motorists should remember a few basic safe driving rules.
Price says there’s an adjustment period between seasons, as motorists have to recall their winter driving skills again.
Public safety agencies remind South Dakotans that now is the time to start preparing themselves, their families, vehicles, and homes for the onset of adverse winter weather.
