Huron Tiger girls and boys basketball open their seasons this weekend with home doubleheaders against Yankton tomorrow and Mitchell Saturday. Wade Stobbs begins his fourth year as head coach of the girls, and returns one starter in sophomore Havyn Heinz. Stobbs says he hopes to get a healthy season out of senior Jayda Shillingstad, who missed half of last year due to injury.
The girls were 4 and 18 last year. The Tigers boys also return one starter in sophomore Kobe Busch. Tim Buddenhagen begins his 17th year as head coach, and says he will play a lot of guys early in the season.
The Tiger boys finished 18-8 and in 6th place at state last year.
