Congress is turning up the heat on Facebook following reports that a political data firm employed by President Trump’s 2016 campaign received personal information from up to fifty million profiles on the site.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says they have been in contact with officials from Facebook.
Thune, Chairman of the Commerce Committee, says Facebook may have violated agreements they signed with the government.
Thune says they also want to hear from the firm involved in the data misuse.
Thune says Facebook is going to have to change the way they do things to retain their user’s confidence.
