President Trump cancelled the summit meeting scheduled for next month with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. He pointed to “bellicose statements” from North Korea in the last few days.
South Dakota Senator John Thune says it’s the right move.
Thune says he thinks economic sanctions were having an effect.
Thune says while talks are preferred, the US has to be prepared.
The President left the door open to talks in the future, if North Korea reaches out.
