President Obama on Wednesday signed an executive order increasing the minimum hourly wage for federal contractors from $7.25 to $10.10. He first announced the measure during his State of the Union address. South Dakota Senator John Thune does not support the increase.
Thune says this is another example of the president abusing his powers.
He says the minimum wage should be left up to each individual state.
The White House says the increase will affect just a few hundred thousand workers.
